Speaker

An expert in storytelling structure, Richard frequently speaks at conferences to help trainers and facilitators better convey complex, nuanced information during employee development training. While the leadership development industry is full of advocates for “story-driven” content, the actual material perpetuated is more scenario-driven. The difference is in how people process and connect information to their own situation; to that requires a clear character with a tangible, visible goal.

This webinar, for the Association for Talent Development in Houston, discusses the science behind story, how human being are hardwired to be engaged in stories (even when a narrative does not exist), and on essential elements to effectively transfer knowledge through storytelling.

Richard is also a frequent speaker and public representative for the Boulder Independent Business Alliance, discussing topics ranging from alternative marketing practices for small businesses to economic theories around the impacts of small business legislation and sustainable currency.

He speaks on business development topics for creative service agencies, helping members of the Rocky Mountain AV Expo better negotiate contracts, create a resilient infrastructure for their business, and better communicate their value as creative professionals.

Finally, Richard teaches a yearly film camp for kids through the Colorado School of Acting, helping young artists find the personal language for them to express their own, unique stories.
